Frequently asked questions about container self-storage
We offer four sizes of storage container here at LOOK self-storage:
- Our small containers are 5ft x 8ft and are available at LOOK Bournemouth and LOOK Poole
- Our medium containers are 10ft x 8ft and are available at LOOK Bournemouth and LOOK Poole
- Our standard storage containers span 20ft x 8ft and can be rented at LOOK Bournemouth and LOOK Poole
- We also offer 50 sq ft topper containers, which sit on top of our standard containers, and these are only available at LOOK Bournemouth
Storage containers are an ideal solution for both personal and business storage. Because they're secure and easy to access, storage containers are especially good for larger items, such as trade equipment, large items of furniture or large appliances.
You can absolutely load your container yourself! Here at LOOK, we've set up our containers so you can drive right up to them and simply unload your things inside. Trolleys are also available at all LOOK locations and, of course, if you need some help loading your container, just let us know and we'd be happy to assist!
Container storage at LOOK comes with no minimum or maximum term – so you can rent your container for as long as you need to!
We'd recommend container storage for everything from business equipment and trade tools, to personal items like furniture and appliances. Our containers are damp protected and incredibly secure, so whatever you're storing, you can be certain it's safe and well protected.
There are certain things you're not allowed to store in LOOK containers, including:
(a) food or perishable goods unless securely packed so they are protected from and do not attract vermin;
(b) any living creatures;
(c) combustible or flammable substances such as gas, paint, petrol, oil, cleaning solvents or compressed gases;
(d) firearms, explosives, weapons or ammunition;
(e) chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents; toxic waste, asbestos or other potentially hazardous substances;
(f) any item that emits fumes, or odours;
(g) any illegal item or substances or goods illegally obtained such as illicit (counterfeit/smuggled) tobacco or alcohol and unlicensed or unsafe goods (such as toys, electrical goods, medicines, aerosols, cosmetics, fireworks);
(h) goods which are environmentally harmful or that are a risk to the property of any person;
(i) items which are irreplaceable, which may include, currency, jewellery, furs, deeds, paintings, curios, works of art and items of personal sentimental value.
As you might imagine, LOOK storage containers are incredibly secure! Built to survive the high seas, our containers are rock solid and we also provide top-of-the-range locks to keep your items firmly locked away. Paired with infrared CCTV and secure gates, you can relax knowing your things are safe.
You can access your container any time between 7am and 9pm (our office hours), but if you need to access it any other time, just let us know and we'll arrange it!
We'll provide you with a heavy-duty padlock and key when you book your storage with us at LOOK, so there's no need to provide your own.
